Doctrine

We are an independent fundamental Baptist church that uses the King James Version of the Bible.

We believe in strong Bible centered preaching, old fashioned singing, and soul-winning.

Independent means we are a local church with no denominational ties. Every decision is made in our local church. We believe in pastoral authority where the pastor leads the church in matters of faith and practice. When it comes to the preaching of the Bible, or who speaks for special meetings, the pastor is the one who makes those decisions. When it comes to finances and the physical operation of the church, we decide on those things as a church family. All of our missionaries are chosen by the church and all money sent out for that purpose is designated by our people.

Fundamental means we believe in the fundamentals of the faith.

1. The inerrancy of the Bible – We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God without errors and is preserved in the English language through the King James Bible.

2. The deity of our Lord Jesus Christ – We believe that Jesus Christ is God and has always existed as the second person of the Trinity.

3. The Virgin Birth – We believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin and did not have an earthly father. This means that Jesus was born without a sin nature and was the Lamb of God without spot or blemish.

4. The blood atonement – We believe that Jesus Christ died on a cross and paid for our sins with His shed blood. He lived a perfect life and died a sacrificial death to purchase our salvation.

5. The bodily resurrection – We believe that when Jesus died and was buried that He arose from the grave on the third day and because of His resurrection, we also will be raised from the dead in the last days.

The following is a statement composed of, but not limited to, the basic doctrines that our church adheres to, and that make us fundamentally Baptist.

We believe that the SCRIPTURES, composed of the Old & New testaments, are God’s inspired inerrant infallible Word, and are the supreme standard & final authority for all conduct, faith, & doctrine. We believe that the King James AV 1611 is the preserved Word of God for the English speaking world without error or mistake. (Ps. 119:160; Pro. 30:5-6; II Tim. 3:16-17; II Peter 1:19-21)
We believe in one GOD, eternally existent as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, commonly referred to as the Trinity. (Ex. 15:11; Ps. 83:18; Jn. 10:30; 15:26)

We believe in the deity of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His death, burial, & resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His premillennial, personal return in power & glory. (Jn. 1:1,14; 3:16; Ph. 2:6-10; I Jn. 2:1-2)
We believe in the HOLY SPIRIT administered to the church. His purpose is to reveal Christ to men, to convict of sin, to regenerate repentant sinners, to illuminate the Bible to Christians and, by His presence & power, sanctify the lives of the redeemed. (Jn. 14:16-17; 20:21; Rom. 8:9; I Cor. 2:14; I Jn. 2:20)

We believe that MAN was created in the image of God, but willfully sinned and is justly under the condemnation and wrath of Almighty God. (Gen. 1:27; 3:6; Ps. 51:5; Rom. 3:10,23)

We believe that the only SALVATION from this guilt & condemnation is through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. This salvation is a free gift of God’s mercy & grace and can only be received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. (Mark 1:15; Acts 20:21; Eph, 2:8-9; Tit. 3:5; Rev. 1:5)

We believe that the local NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH is the body of Christ, composed of born again believers, baptized by immersion, associated for worship, service, & the spread of the Gospel of the grace of God to all the world. (Matt. 10:1-2; 16:18; 28:18-20; Mark 3:13-19; Luke 6:13-16; Acts 1:8; 2:41-47; I Cor. 12:13,28)

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ instituted two Church ordinances, which are:

  1. Baptism
  2. The Lord’s Supper.

Baptism is only to be administered upon profession of faith in Christ by a scriptural (Church) authority, by immersion, thereby declaring one’s faith in a crucified, buried, & risen Saviour. Baptism is the door to Church membership.

The Lord’s Supper is only for believers and is to be preceded by faithful self-examination. It is not a means of salvation and holds no power to cleanse mankind from sin. It is done “in remembrance” of what Christ did for us on Calvary. Its elements are unleavened bread & (non-alcoholic) fruit of the vine. It is to be held as a memorial of the Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection. (Matt. 28:19; Acts 2:41,47; I Cor.10:16; 11:23-29; 12:12-14)

We believe that Christians should live a HOLY & SEPERATED LIFE from the things of this world unto the things of God. (Rom 1:1; II Cor. 6:14-17; I Peter 1:15-16)

We believe that there will be a RESURRECTION of the just and the unjust. The just are those redeemed by the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and at the rapture of the saints will be with Him throughout eternity in glory. The just (the saved), will be judged at the Judgment Seat of Christ, not for their sin, but for their works. The unjust, having died impenitent & unreconciled to God, will be judged at the Great White Throne Judgment, and sentenced to eternal condemnation in Hell. (II Cor. 5:8-10; Luke 16:19-23; Rev. 19:11-16; 20:4-15)

Baptist means that we identify with Baptist distinctives that have endured throughout the ages and can be traced back to the beginning of the church. The Baptists were never a part of the protestant movement and have beliefs that differ from most protestant churches today.

We use the King James Version of the Bible in all of our services and activities. We believe it is the preserved and inspired Word of God for English speaking people. We also believe in the Great Commission to evangelize the world both at home and abroad. We preach and teach the whole Bible, not just the parts that are popular or accepted in our world today. We believe that salvation begins at the hearing of the Word of God, then conviction of the Holy Spirit, and after that, the hearer believes in their heart, and then confesses with their mouth and ask God to save them. Rom 10:9-10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Christians that are growing ought to look and act differently than the unsaved world. We are commanded to be the light and salt of the earth. We are not better than anyone, just different by design. If you are interested in all of our beliefs, we will be happy to send you a copy of our statement of faith and church constitution.
