In the book of Hebrews Chapter 11, we read of several people and their faith.

The Bible says in Heb 11 that we cannot please God without faith. Heb 11:6 But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

But what is this faith the Bible is talking about?  Where must we place faith and from who does this faith come?

Another scripture concerning faith is found in the same book and chapter.

Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

None of us have “seen God”, however there is evidence of God in all creation.  The number of stars, the height of the skies, the depths of the oceans, and the beauty of the forest and deserts are just a few.  It is very evident that there is a God, even though we have not seen him at any time. 1 John 4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared [him].
But God does not want us blind to him, therefore he has sent His Son Jesus Christ to declare him to us.

Faith then, is to be put into the messenger to whom he sent!  That Messengers is Jesus Christ. And we must believe “he is”.

John 1:1 says this. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

1. We must recognize that “he is” God!

2. We must recognize that “he is” the true Word

Once we recognize and believe, it is at that point that our condition becomes very apparent.

We are sinners. Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

We are need of a Saviour and the only one qualified to save us is Jesus Christ.

We must believe the testimony of Christ.

Luke 19:10 saqys this…For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.  And then we read in 2 Pet 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.  The reward is eternal life in Heaven to all that put their faith in the living Son of God and His promise to save all that would trust his testimony and Word by faith.

Believe you are a sinner

Trust that God can save you

Accept His payment on the cross for your sin.

Put your trust in His Word as being true and ask him to save you!

1 Cor 15:1-8 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.  After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.  And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

By putting your faith into the Word (Jesus Christ) and trusting his payment on the cross, and believing with your heart because of the evidence of his truth, you can be saved and be assured of spending eternity in heaven with the one true God.  John 14:14 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if [it were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also.  And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

It is quite simple to be saved, but you must truly believe in your heart!  Rom 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Christ shed His blood on the cross and then rose again on the third day.  That is the testimony that we must believe.   That is believing that “he is”.
