Pastor Randy Foust has been in the service of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ 28 years. He grew up in a small town in western Ohio called Eaton. His life was not typical of many Pastors. A life that was filled with sin and destruction for many years. Shortly after he honorably discharged from the United States Navy, a man knocked on his apartment door and spoke to him about a man named Jesus who shed his blood on the cross to be his Saviour. Two days later, Randy fell on his knees and cried out to God for salvation. From that moment, Randy was a changed man and had a desire to learn all he could about God and the Bible, and share it with the world. He served under the leadership of Pastor Ron Sparks for several years, and then became Youth Pastor at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Gratis Ohio before going back to Gateway Baptist.
Randy has been the Pastor of Cornerstone Baptist since spring of 2019. Their former pastor of 28 years, Pastor Larry Ruh, went home to be with the Lord on December 17, 2017.
His wonderful wife and help meet Jessica Foust is a true blessing to the man of God. She has been a pillar of encouragement and faith to Randy. She was raised Lutheran, but always knew that there was just something missing. One evening while listening to two people talking about knowing they were saved and going to heaven, she questioned what it meant to be saved. The Holy Spirit began to tug on her heart and a short time after her questions were answered, she prayed to God and asked him to forgive her for her sins. God answered and she herself, was a changed woman. She is truly a supporter and up-lifter of her husband.
The two of them are very family friendly and understand the struggles of blended families along with the importance of Phil 3:14 “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Together as a team with the congregation of Cornerstone Baptist, they strive to help families move away from the grief of the past and move toward a loving and forgiving Saviour by the Word of God.
